Back-to-School Essentials

Dear Parents,
The first day of school is right around the corner!  To make it as smooth as possible I want to communicate a few important things.
  1. Bus route notifications have been mailed.  If you have not received a letter to date, be sure to contact the Back-to-School Hotline at (816) 418-7266 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.
    NOTE:  Busing will NOT be provided for Pre K students.
  2. School starts promptly at 8:35 am.  Students are tardy at 8:45 am.
    Students arriving before 8:35 am MUST be enrolled in LINC as classrooms will not be available to students until that time.
  3. For your convenience there is a LINC registration this Friday from 10 to 12.
  4. We will have three dropoff locations to accommodate the 8:35 am start time.
    a.  Wornall Rd (Ms Green) – Families with last names A thru G
    b.  Brookside Blvd (Ms Graham) – Families with last names H thru O
    c.  Parking Lot (Mr B) – Families with last names P thru Z
  5. Elementary school breakfasts are $1.00 (.40 cents reduced).
    Elementary school lunches cost $1.80 (.40 cents reduced).

  6. All students must have their required immunizations on file by Monday, August 15th.  Click here for more information.

First School Advisory Council (SAC) Meeting

Wednesday, August 10th

Please forgive the last minute notice, but we would like to have a SAC meeting before school begins.  We plan on reviewing our School Improvement Plan (SIP) and answer any questions you may have.

Border Star LINC Enrollment Dates

Thursday, August 4th from 5:00p-7:00p
Tuesday, August 9th from 5:00p-7:00p
Friday, August 12th from 10:00a-12:00p

Enrollment Check List

  • Check or Money Order for enrollment fee ($25 per child)
  • One enrollment package must be filled out per child
  • Bring copy of shot records
  • Bring copy of lunch status form
  • Pre-K wellness form filled out by doctor
  • Emergency contact and alternative pickup persons complete information (i.e. phone number, address)
  • Contact information for your child/children doctor and hospital (i.e. phone number, address)

NOTE: If you owe any outstanding balances for LINC child care from previous years, you will not be able to enroll your child/children for the 2011-2012 school year.
